Emily Truman
Emily's journey as an author and cranberry farmer begins in Oklahoma's rural countryside, where her days were spent exploring the outdoors, catching frogs and crawdads in the creeks, and nurturing a deep love for animals. Much like her beloved Cranpup, she was a daydreamer, always imagining herself in far-off lands on grand adventures.
Her passion for storytelling began around the age of 12. Emily found joy in creating short stories that transported her classmates to other places, stretching their imaginations beyond the ordinary. This early love for writing paralleled her fondness for books about animals and dogs, such as 'Old Yeller', 'Where the Red Fern Grows', and ‘Charlotte’s Web’, which later influenced her own life narrative.
Today, Emily lives on a picturesque cranberry farm on the southern coast of Oregon, a proud part of the farmer-owned Ocean Spray cooperative. The farm isn't just a business; it's a source of inspiration where she writes her tales amidst the serene backdrop of nature. Her days are filled with the joys of farm life and caring for her three dogs, affectionately known as her 'cranpups', because they love the cranberry treats she makes them.
Emily's writing is a reflection of her life's journey – a mixture of her rural upbringing, her adventures on the farm, and the vivid imagination that has been her constant companion. As she continues to write, she invites readers to step into her world, a place where the simplicity of country living intertwines with the joy and wonder of childhood adventures.
